capesize bulk carrierThe slow emergence of corrective forces among the Capesizes at the end of last week seems to have only been a minor blip on the grander scale of spot market happenings at the start of this week with front haul freight levels already climbing and the majority of other rates moving sideways. FH assessments have returned to the high US$ 67,000s range (for tonnage of 182,000 dwt) with some shipowners already said to have concluded US$ 68,000 daily for early May dates (based on Continental delivery). Trans-Atlantic business has been stable with TARVs locked into the US$ 42,000s. (For news & updates on dry bulk shipbroking, subscribe to the BMTI Daily Report.)
