Atlantic-based Capesizes seem to be getting their act together before the Christmas week gets underway with corrections turning into minor improvements along the front haul and trans-Atlantic RV assessments. Day-on-day gains of US$ 500 or thereabouts have pushed TARVs back to the US$ 42,000s (based on 182,000 dwt) and front hauls to upwards of US$ 58,000 dwt. Pacific RVs are still under pressure, but brokers do see them stabilizing around US$ 32,000 daily. Eastern rates are starting to bounce back after suffering some downgrades last week with RVs back to US$ 34,000 daily. (For news & updates on dry bulk shipbroking, subscribe to the BMTI Daily Report.)
