The Atlantic-based burst of activity has helped buoy Handysize rates to a notable degree. ECSA rates to the UKC are suddenly trading in the US$ 22,000s (basis 42,000 dwt) after starting the week in the US$ 21,000s (and US$ 20,000s the week before). NCSA trips to the UKC are also climbing at an impressive pace with rates on 48,000 dwt tonnage up by nearly US$ 1,000 week-on-week to hit the US$ 22,000s.
